A main area of interest concerns diagnosis and treatment of Multiple Sclerosis. Today, patients need thorough councelling, given the growing number of treatment alternatives. More than ever, the therapeutic alliance between the physician and the patient is crucial to obtaining the treatment goals, above all freedom of evident disease activity, called NEDA, which includes NO relapses, NO progression of disability and NO increment of lesion load on MRI. I attend international MS congresses regularly, give lectures, and participate in clinical trials.
For the last 15 years or so, headache disorders have been another focus of my interest both scientifically and clinically. I have been involved in numerous clinical trials and deliver lectures and training to GPs and neurologists, both regionally and beyond. It is my firm belief that headache patients need comprehensive care, which may include (but is not limited to) treatment of Chronic Migraine with Botulinum toxin, neuromodulation, and other innovative approaches.
